After Effects error: attempt to inquire about a key value in a time stream with no key values

Hi!

Every time I try to to a reverse copy-paste keyframes, I get this message: After Effects error: attempt to inquire about a key value in a time stream with no key values ( 29 :: 84)

I tried on two different computers, and I get the same result all the time.

I work on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2023 (Apple M2 Pro) with 32 GB of memory, and I'm currently using After Effects 25.3.2.

Can someone help me, please?

Thank you!

Chris.

That's strange! I've seen this error before. Is it happening in a new project as well, or is it project-specific? Are you able to copy and paste the keyframe without reversing? If possible, can you share the project file with me for testing? Feel free to share it via DM if you prefer not to share it publicly.

Here's to help.

Thanks,
Nishu

I think I understand the bug: it happens when I make a rough selection of the keyframes, including other properties without keyframes, like this:

However, when I carefully select only the specific keyframes, like this, it doesn’t happen:

You're correct. I can reproduce this on my end as well. Thanks for reporting. I am going to file a bug report for further investigation.

Feel free to reach out if there are any other questions. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu
