After Effects error: Can't import as a sequence. Found no matches for the selected file name.

When I click on “Create Reference Frame” I get the following error:

 

After Effects error: Can't import as a sequence. Found no matches for the selected file name.

I noticed one thing

 

This error appears in Sony S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3 color space (I tried After Effects versions 2020-2024) and this error appears everywhere.

In other color spaces everything works fine


Thanks for your time,hope you can help me to solve this problem.

P.s After Effects I used pure without plugins or anything else

      Hopefully, we have a fix in an update sooner than later.

       

      In the meantime, temporarily set the working color space to “None” while generating reference frames and then set it back to “Sony S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3” when done.

       

      Optional:  On the Photoshop side, use Edit > Assign Profile… to assign “Sony S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3” to the resulting layered PSD file, save, and then reload the all corresponding “Reference Frames” in After Effects.  Saving the Photoshop steps as an Action should reduce the number of clicks needed.  Also, while in Photoshop, assigning the profile may change the Layer Transparency to white instead of showing the transparency grid, but this should not affect the transparency on the After Effects side.  If needed while still in Photoshop, alt/option clicking the Layer Thumbnail should still load the Layer Transparency as expected.

      Thanks for the answer, it turns out that this is an error in Adobe itself, do you know how to fix it?

      Thank you for reporting this issue. We are also able to reproduce this error when setting the project color space to Sony S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3, and have opened a ticket to investigate potential fixes.

      I believe you've found a genuine bug.

      I'm able to reproduce this with After Effects 24.3.0, 23.6.2, and 22.6.5 as well as After Effects (Beta) 24.5.0 under macOS Sonoma 14.4.1.
