After Effects error Code 35536

Running CC, reinstalling some apps after a break in versions. Last version I ran was 2022. I added AE 2025, updated 2022 and set it to import old preferences. Pshop, Premiere, etc all run fine. After Effects (both versions) give me this (w attached image):

After Effects error Code 35536...  ...\webm.exe timed out

I assume its a driver error of some sort, and has to do with MediaCore, but I need to get these comps going and have had no luck fixing it. Any help would not only be appreciated but would be a major life saver.
