After Effects hangs or crashes when importing certain .mov h.264 files
Hi I am having an issue on Mac Sequoia 15.1 with After Effects 25.1.0 where After Effects hangs or crashes when importing certain movie files with .mov extension containing h.264 video. It seems like a workaround is to rename the file with .mp4 extension, and then after effects behaves normally. However, if I try to open a project saved on another computer which contains these problematic files (or saved in the past on the problem computer), the project will not fully open and I have no way of determining which movie file is causing the problem. I have tried clearing database and cache, opening in safe mode, and disabling all third party plugins. None of these actions solves the issue. I have tried opening in older versions of After Effects on the same computer, and I get the same problematic result. Is there a way to determine whether there is a codec or something installed somewhere on Mac that might be causing After Effects to be unable to import h.264 movies in .mov files? Is this a known issue on this version of MacOS?
