After Effects randomly shuts down after 2 minutes of editing

Hello

I'm currently on AE 24, I wish to update to 25 but its the reason to the issue including 24 now...

So this issue just started to happen, came out of no where. For the past few weeks, while I'm editing a video AE would randomly shut down with no warnings. This never happened to me before too, my computer was handeling it well it was never crashing, even during a simple rendering it crashes.

what annoys me the most is that it just randomly started to happen, it was working really well, rendering it well too. With this issue I have to do so many complex things just top manage to render the video with CC.

today all I did was put a clip and then a text, both had NO effects, they were still simple and it just shuts down randomy after 2 minutes.

I really need a solution quick as this this is my work,

Thank you.

I'm currently on a macbook pro 2019 on the latest OS version.

Hi - Can you create a log file for us?

  1. Start AE
  2. Help Menu => Enable Logging
  3. Restart AE
  4. Click through any errors.
  5. Help Menu => Reveal Logging Files...
  6. Find the "After Effects Log.txt" file and copy/paste the content back to this forum thread.

It sounds like you're dealing with unexpected crashes in After Effects (AE) on macOS, and this could be caused by a few factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

  1. Clear Cache and Preferences:

    • Sometimes corrupted cache files cause crashes. In After Effects, go to Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache.
    • Also, consider resetting preferences by holding Option + Command + Shift while AE is starting. This can help clear any issues with your current setup.
  2. Update Graphics and Audio Drivers:

    • Outdated graphics drivers or issues with Metal or OpenCL (used in rendering) can cause crashes. Ensure you have the latest updates for your Mac's GPU.
    • If you're using any external audio interfaces, try disconnecting them to rule out driver-related issues.
  3. Review Plug-ins:

    • Third-party plugins can cause instability after an update. Temporarily remove or disable plugins by moving them from Applications > Adobe After Effects 2024 > Plug-ins to another folder, and see if that resolves the issue. If none of
