After effects stopped sending compositions to Media Encoder

  • My compositions no longer appear on Media Encoder when I try to export them from After Effects.
  • Also when I try to add them manually from Media Encoder by browsing to the file, it gets stuck on "Connecting to project..."
  • Also when I try to use "add to render queue" and then use the "queue in AME" button it doesn't work (after pressing this button nothing happens)

Hey, if anyone still needs a fix, I’m on a Mac using AE 25.4.0, and when it stops sending comps to ME, I just go to the Activity Monitor, search for the “ae render core” process (usually frozen), and force quit it. This way, I don’t need to restart every time. Hope this helps!

Pretty much. It's all so tiresome.

This community is pretty useless, never solved anything by consulting Adobe...better search somewhere else.

I have the same problem with one project in AE, and every sollution I've read in the forum is not working.

Also this thing with trial and error is quite tiresome. Why aren't there clear sollutions.

If the software has bugs, then it shouldn't be published and make our lives miserable.

A few years back you used Beta versions, now you've converted all the users into beta testers without asking us.

I don't see any mention of rebooting so that's what I shared that step. There has been no response from the original user since I responded so I'm not sure how to move forward on a solution without more details.

I guess that was the first thing he did. So he asked for advice here, hoping for some support from the creators.

20 days and still no sollution?

Try restarting your computer and see if it will start working again. Occasionally the Dynamic Link background processes can lose track of AE/AME connections and a restart should help with that.
