After Effects stops working on specific projects

Hello,

After Effects stops working on certain files, as you can see in the attached video. There is no progress in the preview section, even though I move forward in the timeline. Additionally, the save screen that appears when I close the file stays on top of all windows, and it doesn’t go to the background even when I open other applications or finders.

To troubleshoot, I unchecked the "Enable Hardware Accelerated Decoding" option in the Import section, but the issue persists. There are multiple .mov files in the project I am working on. I have also completely uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects three or four times, removing all plugins.

I would greatly appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

Thanks for sending your project over. I could not reproduce the issue but here are some things you could try.

1. Close and reopen the comp viewer

2. Disable third party scripts by opening AE in safe mode

3. Clear your cache

If neither of these work, can you send me your preferences file

Hi @Zack Einhorn! Thank you for your response.

I am using 2023 Macbook Pro M2 Pro 16GB Memory with Sequoia 15.2 and After Effects 25.1.0

Hi @cemc18303069,

I'm sorry you're having issues. What are the specs of your computer and the version of AE you're using? Also, could you send me the project you're having trouble with in a DM so I can reproduce the issue?
