When you say you've tried other versions, what versions? Was that AE versions or OS versions?
I do know 10.15.3 had a lot of issues with AE due to some OS changes Apple made. If you can go to 10.15.7 that may help, or the latest version of AE (23.4) may help.
Otherwise, please cause the crash again, fill in your email address (the one you use here on the forums) in the crash dialog and submit the crash report so we can take a look at what's going on.
