Aftereffects: Video Preview fine then suddenly stops and program stops responding.

Hello,
I recently updated AE to the 2025 version.

I opened a file, made some edits, previewed the video a few times (clicked space bar), it worked great.

Made some more changes, clicked the space bar again, the hand tool was being selected then deselected when I clicked and released space bar.
And the video stopped previewing (even when I moved the "curser" thing manually along the video or when I clicked "play" in the preview window).

I saved the file (it seemed to have saved well) and tried exiting the program, when I did AE stopped responding. 
I force quitted it and re-opened the file it my changes after the space bar stoped responding were not made.

Thanks for the screen recording and details. I can see the issue. Can you try clearing the media cache (Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache)? See if it helps. If it doesn't try running After Effects in Safe Mode.

Let us know if that brings any change.

Here is a screenroecording of it happening, the issue was solved when i saved as a new file in a different location, but it's not always the case.

RAM: 16, 13 for AE
OS Version: Sequoia 15.1

That's strange! Is this issue repeatable? Can you reproduce this on a new project? If so, please share a screen recording to help us diagnose the issue. Also, let us know your system specs (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)
