Alembic animations in Cinema 4D layer not rendering since AE 23.1

I've been placing a number of mocap characters into scenes (output as Alembic animations from Blender) using AE 23.0 and C4D Lite R25. But since the update to AE 23.1 with C4D Lite R26, Alembic objects within the C4D file do not render. All other objects render out fine.

Hi everyone! I'd just like to confirm I'm having the same issue. I have great results rendering alembic through Cineware (C4D Lite) in Ae 2022, however in Ae 2023, alembic meshes do not render. More than happy to send a project file if needed!

Cheers
Chris

The character seen in the c4d file does not display in AE 23.1 or newer

Thanks @Mr Seaniepie,

Since this issue is with both the release version and the Beta version, I've moved the thread to the Bugs section of the main After Effects forums.

Would you be able to provide a sample Alembic file and After Effects project that demonstrates the issue? That will help us to determine if the issue lies in the After Effects or in C4D R26.

As an FYI, After Effects no longer ships a Lite version of C4D. The full version is included and the available features are determined by the Maxon license used.

Thanks for reporting this issue and for any further information you can provide,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team

Hi @Mr Seaniepie,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Is this occurring only in the Beta version of After Effects or also in the release version?

Hi John,

It is in both 23.1 stable and Beta versions. I think it is primarily an R26 Lite issue rather than AE. Perhaps it is something that Maxon needs to look into.
