Audio Ram preview synch is broken (again !)

Hi,


Problem: On After Effects version 25.2 and 25.2.2 audio doesn't synchronize properly the first time the ram preview is played. You have to stop the ram preview hit "0" key again and then it plays with audio properly synch.


Version 25.1 works fine.


This behavior is there for a very long time. and version 25.1 was a great improvement since the audio ram preview never work proprerly since version 2014 (!). I was so surprise and so happy to see it was fixed but here we go again. What on the earth you guys are doing with ram preview audio synch ? Why don't you fixed it once ans for all ? Adding new features are great but please fix first fundamentals fonctionality like ram preview first and definitively.


I repeat 25.1 works fine so please reverse back to what you did for 25.1

(I am on pc Windows 10 but I was for a while on Mac and ram preview never played properly on Mac too)

There were no changes in 25.2 to do with audio sync. There were changes to Transmit to work with HDR.

 

Any chance you can capture footage of the video and audio being out of sync for you? Also screenshots of your Audio preferences in AE?

ps: I am using 25.1 since this morning without any ram preview bug (same PC, same OS, same plugins installed, same external monitor, same everything).

Here are my specs:


1. CPU: Ryzen 9 7950x

GPU: RTX 4900 (driver 561.17)

RAM: 64 Go

OS: Windows 10 (with last update)

I always use Mercury Transmit with an HD external monitor (Transmit device playback: Adobe Monitor 2)


2. The comp is prety basic : format is HD 25p. I am using a Prores HD 422 HD as main footage + some text and Illustrator layers. Again very basic and light stuff.


3. I don't use plugin much. In this comp I only use Deep Glow 2.


But this is a very very old bug that has nothing to do with my specs or plugins. Audio synch with Ram preview never worked properly since AE 2015 it is very well known.

I've changed many times of PCs and Macs since then and the audio synch when first play Ram preview never worked properly. Surely at Adobe you have heard of it.

That's why I was so pleased to see that the problem was fixed in 25.1 and so disppointed to see that it is broken again in the two last versions...

You should dig to know what change have been made in 25.1 vs prior and following versions that cause the problem.

1. What are the specs of the machine you're currently working on (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)?

2. What are the details of the media (frame size, format/codec) and which effects are used in the project?

3. Are there any third-party plug-ins installed?
