Can't open another project after rendering in HEVC

Hi folks!

 

When I'm rendering a Clip in H.265 (HEVC), I cannot open another project. AE always shows the issue "The document "myproject" could not be opened. After Effects cannot open files in After Effects Project format."

I have to restart AE 50 times a day, because I'm working on much small projects, daily.

Thats so anoying!

 

Can you help me?

Hi Nishu,

 

sorry, I had to much to work the last days.

My Specs:

CPU: Apple M1 Ultra 20-Core

GPU: 64-Core GPU Integrated

RAM: 128 GB

OS: 13.6.6 (22G630)

 

My projects are stored on an external Promise Pegasus 32, but projects on my internal SSD have the same issue. I have to clear the media cache every week, that is not a solution.

No, it happens after rendering the clip in HEVC.

That's strange! Have you tried exporting in a different format? What are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)? Where your project files are stored? In internal storage or external/server storage? As suggested above, please try clearing the media cache.

This issue often arises due to After Effects using system resources heavily while rendering in H.265 (HEVC). Try reducing the number of concurrent renders or lowering the render quality. Additionally, consider updating your software, clearing the cache, or allocating more RAM to After Effects to prevent crashes.
