Hello everyone! I’m experiencing a bug in After Effects: when I open Extension 1, then dock it, and afterwards open Extension 2, there’s a problem — when I close Extension 1, Extension 2 also closes for some reason.
Sometimes the UI (user interface) of Extension 2 even disappears.

Does anyone know why this happens?

I tried the 2025 version and it's still the same.

Hello Aditya. 

Is there a possiibility you could upgrade to a more recent version of AE and see if you are facing the same issue? This issue might very likey have been fixed in the latest version and we would have no way to go back and inject the fix in older versions of After Effects.

I’m using After Effects 2019 and 2021.

Windows.

Both.

Yes, if I close Extension 2, Extension 1 works fine.

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. A few questions i have for you are

1. What version of AE are you using?

2. What OS are you seeing this issue on? It is OS specific?

3. Does this happen in default workspaces or custom workspace?

4. Does is only happen when Extension 1 is docked?
