Cinema 4d Lite does not launch

I am trying to open some old C4D files from within After Effects. I have a full Creative Cloud account.

C4D Lite gives me an error as it tries to open. (Attached screenshot.)

MacOS 15.6 on Mac Studio, 64 GB RAM

- I have uninstalled After Effects

- I have deleted every trace I can find of Maxon on my system

- I have reinstalled AE

The error message says I have no license.

Thanks

It looks like your Maxon App is in RLM Mode...

please update to the Maxon App 2026 then click on the gear icon in the top left corner and exit rlm mode.

only a few studios use rlm mode (and people that "sail the seven seas" if you catch my drift) and after you update the maxon app and are no longe rusing rlm mode then you can go to the licenses page in the maxon app and maybe you'll see "C4D Lite" as a perpetula license that you can assign on that machine?!

This is getting more confusing…

As you can see from the screenshot, the C4D layer has opened, but when I try and open C4D Lite from within AE to access the file directly, it tells me I do not have a license, and fails.
