Closing Adobe Programs

Upon trying to quit several Adobe programs (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder) on my PC, the programs fail to quit promptly and usually give a "Not Responding" message from Windows.   Once it's close either through quitting in task manager or finally closing itself, the program continues to run in Background (as seen on Task Manager) and continues to use RAM, though the CPU usage is 0%.    All Adobe software has been replaced with the newest versions of software.   Any ideas?
