Comp preview freeze and impossible to render when using GPU Mercury (Metal) in AE 2025

Hello,

I have a project with some RED footage to chromakey, I use the Redgiant VFX Suite (but the bug appears with Keylight too).

After a few seconds the preview freezes and I can't do anything, and when I quit I have the spinning wheel for ever, until I force to quit.

If I try to render, the render engine freezes on the first frame, and I have to force to quit.

These problems appear with GPU Mercury (Metal) on, if I use Mercury software only, the bug doesn't appear, but the render times are slow.

Can you try reproducing the issue with the third-party plug-ins disabled? Here's what you need to do:

1. Open After Effects and go to Effect > Manage Effects > uncheck all the third-party plug-ins and restart After Effects.

2. Create a new project and try to replicate the issue with the GPU Mercury (Metal).
