Hello! I had this same issue and removing Aspera Connect DID resolve this issue, however this is not a viable long-lasting solution since our company uses Aspera Connect daily.

Sorry to hear about the crash. Are there any crash reports when After Effects crashes? If so, please provide your email id to the crash reporter and submit it so that we can find the report on our system.
If it doesn't show the crash report here's how you can generate the log file:
Start AE
Help Menu => Enable Logging
Restart AE
Click through any errors.
Help Menu => Reveal Logging Files...
Find the "After Effects Log.txt" file and copy/paste the content back to this forum thread.
