Creative Cloud “Render Complete” notification still pops up after disabling in AE

When I render any composition, Creative Cloud Desktop still pops a “Render Complete” notification even though I’ve disabled Render Queue notifications in Edit → Preferences → Notifications and turned off After Effects notifications in the Creative Cloud app.

  1. Open After Effects 25.3.2 on MacOS Sequoia 15.5
  2. Go to Edit → Preferences → Notifications and un-check Render Queue notifications.
  3. In Creative Cloud Desktop → Account Icon → Preferences → Notifications, disable all app notifications.
  4. Create a new comp (any settings) and add it to the Render Queue.
  5. Click Render and wait for the render to finish.

No Creative Cloud Desktop notification should appear, because both relevant notification toggles are off (see screenshots) but Creative Cloud Desktop still shows a “Render Complete” toast/badge the moment the render finishes.

But whyyyy?

Understood. I was wrong on the preference inside AE, that would just auto-check the Notify checkbox on new RQ items. So it's just the 2 inside AE, one for individual renders and one for the queue. The notifications inside CCD cover more than just AE, but yes, lots of options for those who need them.

That one was it.

But can I just say that it is absolutely bonkers that there are fully THREE separate places in the program AND one externally for this feature which all seem to override each other. I'm sure there are folks who use this on high-volume production, but this level of redundancy is borderline paranoid and useless.

Sorry, there is one more place. Bottom right corner of the Render Queue which is also controlling sending completion notifications.

Ooh, thanks for the lead. I didn';t know about that ...

BUT looking closer, those checkboxes aren't/weren't checked.

Have a look in your Render Queue, make sure the Notify column is enabled and then ensure the checkbox is off. The preference in AE's preferences is just to send one notification upon completion of all comps in the render queue completing, but you can also send individual comps for notifications.
