Cropped Edges from Premiere Pro are not carried over to AE

When I bring a photo with cropped edges into AE from Premiere Pro I lose the cropped edges and have to redo them in AE. Is there a setting to fix that? And why is the "cropped" effect SO cumbersome in AE? It is a breeze in PP!!

Hi everyone,

A fix is available in the latest AE Beta builds, starting in 25.6.0 build 37. When you can, please give the fix a try and let us know if it is working as you expect.

Thanks,

Theresa

Hi lesliek1,

We're sorry to hear about this. Could you please confirm how you are cropping the image in Premiere Pro? Are you using Crop effect under Video Effects > Transform > Crop or the crop options under Effect Controls > Motion?

Thanks,

Sumeet

In PP I use "crop" just as you described. Then when I get the picture the size I want and select"replace with AE composition" inside AE I lose the cropping I did in PP. Then when I use the "crop" effect in AE to do it all over again, it is SO cumbersome!! The AE team could learn something from the PP team on implementing the "cropping effect."

Thanks for pointing it out. I am able to reproduce the issue on my end. I am going to file a bug report for further investigation.

Moving this thread from Discussions to Bugs.

Thanks,
