Displaying Layer Controls is very slow

Thanks for reaching out. How many shape layers are there? Is it only the Composition that goes unresponsive or the whole UI? Can you share a sample project so that I can try to replicate the issue on my end? Also, please share your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version).
