Dropdown Menus Don't Work

When using After Effects I'm unable to use dropdown menus to change things like quality, size of my composition on screen, and other dropdown menus I have from scripts. The dropdowns are still there but when I click on them nothing happens.

I do have third-party plugins/panels installed and I am on Windows 11 24H2 with a Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6600, and 24gb of RAM.

Thank you for your help but I already solved my issue. I was seeing this issue in ae25.2.2 and ae25.5.5. I got the problem four different times, first and second time I reset all my caches, third time I reset all my preferences, and the fourth time I disabled my plugins + reenabled them.

Hi @sebastian_1128

That's no good!
A couple of questions:

  • What version of After Effects are you seeing this issue in?
  • Are you seeing this behavior in any other Adobe app like Photoshop or Premiere?
  • Can you please install After Effects Beta and see if you are seeing the same issue in the Beta?
    • The Beta is a stand alone app and can run side by side with the release app.
  • Do the dropdown menus work if you disable the Third-Party Plugins and relaunch AE?

Steps to Disable third-party plugins

  1. Navigate to the Top Bar Menu > Effect > Manage Effects
  2. Check "Only Show Third-Party Effects"
  3.  Select all of the Third-Party effects
  4. Click Disable

This will re-launch AE.

Hope we can get you back on track asap.

Thanks,
