Elusive Bug that is effecting animated elements but only in the final video renders.
Bug description: When performing a final render out of After effects, Some animated elements in the video will shift over 10-15 pixels in a random direction. There are no keys on said element(s), and everything in the project appears to be fine, even in the ram preview. This issue only presents itslef in the final renders. Attempts to locate the source of the bug have proven to be incredibly difficult. Between three different computers, the bug has appeared differently not only in how it acts, but where it appears. Attempts to R&D the bug have shown promising results for one person, but not for others.
After Effects version 25.0.1 (build 2)
Operating systems - Windows 10, Apple Monterey 12.7.5 & Sonoma 14.5
Steps to reproduce - Unsure. The bug presents itself seemingly randomly, and attempts to actually pinpoint the cause of the bug have had different results varying from - Disconnecting Parented nulls, Turning off Motion Blur, Turning off Constant Rasterize, Changing Shutter Phase amount, Clearing out Memory & Cache, Clearing only Memory or Only Cache, Deleting Unused Hidden layers. All of these examples have effected the bug in some way. None of them seem to be the exact cause or a direct solution.
This is a link to a reddit thread that I started that goes more in depth into the actual bug itself, the history of it and some of the R&D that has been attempted
We had originially thought the problem was more of a hardware issue with my computer when it first appeared, and would just hand the project to someone else for final renders. But one of our most recent projects now shows the bug for all of us. I am unable to share that project at the moment and the bug is incredibly difficult to narrow down. Deleting things out of the project or changing things in general can sometimes seemingly get rid of the bug. I was, however, able to narrow down the bug in a project from about a year ago.
I've uploaded the project file here
The gif above is an example as to what should be happening in that project, just incase it doesnt appear for you. Again, the bug seems to differ from one computer to the next. The circle surrounding the character shifts down and to the right by about ~15 pixels or so.
The circumstances surronding it do not appear to have any rhyme or reason at the moment. The reddit thread I linked goes into even more detail than I can really type in here, Even has some R&D from someone else that almost seemed to be the solution but ended up not working. So I would be sure to check through it. But, I am happy to expand on anything I can here.
