Extra frame when using dynamic link

So I am excperiencing a problem where I send say 2 clips to after effects via dynamic link and an extra frame is added to both.

I think it may have something to do with how both programs do cuts differently. Im not sure

And this would not normally be a problem if the frame before is the same camera angle, but since both clips are cut right next to a change in camera angle in PP the different camera angle shows up as a frame in AE.

What I want is to be able to send the exact clips frame by frame from PP to AE. This problem just makes everything so much time consuming since i manually have to go over everything and make it apply to what was originally in PP.

V25.3 for both programs

I dropped a video showcasing the problem.

Hey Glory Days!

Thanks for posting about this issue with the extra frame being added, let's see how we can help.

It looks like those are screen recordings, is that true? Or videos downloaded from online? Sometimes those videos are in a variable frame rate. Variable frame rate is a type of video could be playing back at 23fps at one part of the clip, and 24fps at another part of the same clip. It could be that Premiere is accommodating that variation but After Effects is not.

Let's try this. Run your clip through https://adobe.ly/46hvp9S before importing it to Premiere. This will convert it from a variable frame rate to a constant frame rate. Then right-click and select "Replace with After Effects Composition" and see if it gets the framing right.

Let us know how it goes,

Caroline
