ExtractoR Crashing

Every time I use extractor on an EXR sequence AE will crash on re-opening said project. 

My work around is to disabble the effect, delete it from all layers, then re-open the project enable it again, restart again, then re-aply extractoR at which point it will work until I close the project and re-open it. 

I have seen many people complain about this exact issue, and it happens regaurdless of the footage I use. So it's not that or some other effect. I have multiple projects that require EXRs at the moment and it happens on all of them. 

I have tried all the recomended solutions updateding drivers, disabling multi-frame rendering, clearing all cache and media files, updating AE/Encodeer updating windwos etc. 

Does anyone have a propor solution for this?

    Confirming this is a severe issue here with ExtractoR with both the 2026 and 2025 versions of After Effects. Have re-created the failure on two separate machines with fresh projects. One with a 5070 GPU, and one with a 4090. The effect is not stable. Very often it crashes After Effects as soon as it is applied to an EXR image sequence. On the 5070 machine one of the OpenEXR crashes damaged a project file which couldn’t be opened again without an immediate freeze. Looking for workarounds to use EXR sequences in After Effects

    I think you have it correct. I have 4 options for exporting EXR files in the 3D software (LIGHTWAVE 3D)

    RGBA FP

    RGBA HALF

    RGB FP

    RGBHALF

    It seems the RGB FP versions is the one that is crashing when EXtractoR is applied.

    The other 3 seem to be OK.

    I have added a folder in the link above with an example of each flavor of EXR along with a list of the export formats available.

    Same here.

    AE Crashes if I apply the EXtractoR plugin directly to an EXR layer. Crashes if its a single frame or an image sequence.

    If the effect is applied to a non EXR layer (and adjustment or TGA for example) it doesnt crash.

      My  self and my studio is also having this problem. The error is related to the EXtractoR program. We have been able to recreate this error on several computers
