"Fill" effect and other core effects missing from the Effects Panel

Issue : “Fill” effect and other miscellaneous pre-installed effects are entirely missing from the Effects Panel and “Manage Effects” window

AE version : 26.2

OS : MacOS Tahoe 26.3.1

What I did to try and fix the issue :

  • reset Preferences
  • uninstalled and reinstalled AE
  • opened the “Manage Effects” window and activated all effects
  • uninstalled and reinstalled in an older version (25.6.5)

The last step allowed me to see “Fill” again in the list

I think I have the solution : I just opened an old project with the fill effect in it. My AE is in french and the effect has a different translation… It is not “remplir” anymore, it’s “fond”… 😩

    That's not ideal.

"Only Show Third-Party Effects" needs to be disabled in the Effect Manager to see the built-in effects. If that doesn't help, could you share a screenshot of the Effect Manager showing "Fill," or the name of any other effects that are missing, typed into the search bar? I just tested on my end. I can access all the effects in the latest version Ae.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,

I have the same issue. The effect is still in the folder “\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects 2026\Support Files” but impossible to use it or to find it in the Effect Manager.
