Font size in Essential Properties not updating if template is modified

Either a bug or a huge oversight usability-wise, but having a very annoying issue with using Essential Properties on a template that is used across a project dozens of times, and now left with having to spend a significant amount of time editing all of these across a multitude of comps, making the whole point of EP kind of moot. 

Expected behavior:
If the text properties of a text field in Essential Properties are NOT enabled, changing the size of that element in the parent subcomp/template should be reflected across all the uses of that template.

Experienced behavior:
Updating the template's font sizes have no effect on any uses of it. There is no way to "Refresh" or reset those properties, the only way I've found to have those layers reflect the change is to go back to the Essential Graphics panel, enable font size properties for those text fields and then edit, individually, the font size across all the uses of that template.
