How can I use transparent Cryptomattes ? Picking an object always selects the one in the foreground.

Hi there !

I’ve been having issues with using transparent Cryptomattes in After effects.

Whenever I want to select something that is behind a transparent object with the picker, AE selects the object in the foreground with no way for me to actually pick the one behind. Which makes using cryptomattes with glass objects unusable.

Does anyone have any solution for making this work ?

Thanks !

    Hi there,
I have linked an EXR that shows the exact issue I’m talking about.

This is the Beauty of my render. I have a glass Suzanne, with an orange ball behind it.
This is what the cryptomatte looks like in after effect. The refraction of the ball does show up as a seperate, selectable item.
Now when I try to select the orange ball, I simply can’t as AE selects the whole Suzanne in front, with no way for me to only select the ball behind it.
