It sounds like you have it, but are unable to apply it and are getting an error message talking about the entry point missing. Is that correct?

Could you share a screenshot to help us understand the issue better?

you can try this: Go to Effect > Manage Effects > uncheck "Only Show Third-Party Effects" and search for Drop Shadow. Ensure it is enabled.
