Keeps hanging on import

AE 25.3.2 upgrade hangs on file explorer when importing files, not even when you hit the import button. 
It will sometimes go unresponsive for around 20 seconds or crash. This started happening after updating and it happens around 30% of the time, on both the NAS and local drive. 

EDIT: It does not hang if I drag and drop files into the project. It's clearly the importer
