Lag when clicking Essential Graphics after switching from external window

Thanks for your quick reply. Here are the details:

System:

• Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit

• Laptop: ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 GU603ZW

• Processor: 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12900H (2.5 GHz)

• RAM: 48 GB (4800 MT/s)

• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU, 8 GB VRAM

• Storage: 2.75 TB SSD (1.35 TB used)

• Input: XP-Pen PTZ-630 tablet (used as main mouse)

• After Effects 2025 (latest release)

Media / Project details:

• Mainly working with text layers and shape layers

• Often adding still images (sometimes 4K) and occasionally short video clips

Important note:

• This issue does not happen in After Effects 2024. It started only in the 2025 release.

• The lag occurs specifically when switching back from any external window into AE and trying to interact with the Essential Graphics panel (e.g., a text field). It takes a few seconds before the panel becomes responsive.
