latest version 2.4.1, Dropdown Menu Control does not display any non-English language.

In the latest version 2.4.1, when using Dropdown Menu Control, all non-English languages appear as .

Thanks to this, all the presets made were ruined.

Adobe is good to add the latest features, but I also want you to pay attention to keeping the function that works fine and well.

DaveC here, I'm the Unicode dude on the AE team.

So yeah, I hear what you're saying. You're right: under certain circumstances, we decoupled AE from the setting in your system preferences: in v24, it is currently not supported to switch to the Unicode "code page". We're actually working very hard on bringing AE into the modern age by making it 100% unicode, regardless of system setting. Stay tuned! Any language or script system that you use in your MOGRTs and DropDownMenuEffects should "just work" no matter what language you happen to be running in!

For the time being, to see this Japanese dropdown menu effect, you must install and run the specifically Japanese version of AE. Sorry for the temporary hassle!!

We ARE working on it, we HEAR you and we are, as ever, your humble servants.

24.0.3 (Current version in use)

24.1.0 (Latest version)

Both are screens that have been applied after creating a solid layer on an empty project.

As you say, words like 'ñ' in Spanish are not written in time regardless of version.

Because of this issue, all the presets made for work were messed up and the whole team had to roll back the version. (I live in Korea and don't speak English as the main language.)

I simply don't understand that the function that was working fine at one update is completely broken.
Maybe the AfterEffect development team doesn't seem to be considerate of non-English language users.

As other users complain, the AfterEffect development team should pay more attention to the basic functions' smooth operation, not the addition of new functions.

Hi @sbs5CCE,

Thank you for reporting this issue. Would you be able to share a project or a screenshot of the issue you're describing? We are not currently tracking a match issue with Dropdown Menu Controls when running in any non-English languages, though we are aware of some issues with trying to use some characters like é or ô within the Dropdown's items.

Thanks for reporting this issue and for any further information you can provide,

- John, After Effects Engineering Team
