M2 Mac After Effects h264 renders coming out glitchy

Hey! After Effects used to render amazing H264s, but lately in the last few versions of After Effects, h264/h265 renders coming out of AE with crazy glitchy square pixelation during movement. When I render Prores there's no issue, and I can use Handbrake to convert them to h264s that look fine, but for some reason native export has become completely broken. I've tried reinstalling AE, updating my mac, etc. Anyone know any fixes?
