Make content aware fill suck less

To be honest, I've never once gotten a useable result from content aware fill - has anyone?  I only really use it as a dynamic link between AE and Photoshop, but that never seems to work any more either.  So yeah, make some of it work please.

AE2025 is totally wrecked. The Content Aware feature is near unusable in certain scenarios. I had to remove a logo on a T-shirt worn on a moving talent. The logo was pretty large reaching far to the sides of the torso, I couldn't for a life of me remove it in AE2025. It was all over the place, super inconsistent. The Light Correction was somehow leaving huge jittered gaps near a mask edges. After an hour of trying I have up, saved the project for older version, opened AE2024 and boom, first try... That's why I always keep the old versions as much as I can, because with every new version they f**k something up. Keep it together Adobe!

I wish we could use the Reload Footage shortcut from the Layer Source in the Timeline in addition to the Source Footage in the Project panel.

Have you set a custom keyboard shortcut for Reveal Layer Source in Project?  I find that to be extremely helpful for quickly reloading clips in After Effects when it doesn't do so on its own.

25.2 on both and WIndows 10.  I've found that to get the reference frames to load in AE I have to find the clip in the project panel and reload it - not a major pain, but took a minute to figure out and it's consistently behaving that way.  As for the actual content aware fill tool itself I hardly use it at all... it's just quicker to do it in other ways

Yes, I use Content-aware Fill at least once a week, sometimes for one or two shots in a thirty second promo spot and sometimes for almost every shot;  however, it's not a full replacement for Mocha Pro's Remove Module.

Which versions of After Effects and Photoshop are you using?

For work, I'm on macOS Ventura 13 running After Effects 24.6.6 and Photoshop 25.12.3 (the 2024 versions) and generating reference frames works as expected.  Which OS are you running, which versions of Ae and Ps, and what's not working as expected?
