Mask not working on layer with Object Matte active

I have this layer with an Object Matte active. Now I want to add a Subtracting Mask for a reason. But unfortunately, when the Object Matte is active, the Mask has no effect,

     That is a classic After Effects quirk! Track mattes and masks operate in different rendering pipelines, so masks often get ignored or behave unexpectedly when an Object Matte is active.

    Hi there, thanks for reporting this! Could you share your exact AE and OS versions, along with a short screen recording showing the mask’s settings and what happens when you toggle Object Matte off and on?

    Does this also happen in a new project with a different clip? If possible, please share a sample project and footage so we can test it here.
