Memory usage with RED importer and MFR
It looks like using the RED importer with MFR ends up using all RAM available. This is AE 2025.5 on Windows with 32GB RAM although it seems to happen on systems with more memory and longer clips as well.
- Create a comp containing RED footage (8K is a good test)
- Turn on MFR
- Note setting for RAM reserved for other applications
- Add comp to render queue and render in AE
- System RAM will reach 100% and system will slow down due to swapping.
This is not occur with MFR off. Increasing RAM reserved for other applications doesn't help. Switching to Software Only doesn't change anything. This does not seem to occur with other importers, e.g MP4 files.
