Pan tool doesn't work with a two-finger swipe (move) gesture on a trackpad.

In both Photoshop and Illustrator apps, trackpad gestures function as follows:

  • Pinch in/out with two fingers → Zoom in/out
  • Two-finger swipe → Pan tool

According to this Adobe's tutorial video (https://youtu.be/Twp181u24Bc?t=102), the same gestures should work in After Effects as well. However, for some reason, when swiping (moving) with two fingers on a trackpad, the canvas is zooming in/out instead of panning. So, both gestures result in zooming."

I'm using v24.0.2.

@nishu_kush  Finally! Thanks! Yet I can't believe that it took you 8 years to start addressing the issue. 8 years, guys!

Sorry for the delayed response. We can reproduce this on our end. Work in progress. Thanks for reporting.

Best,

Here is a post on the Stack Exchange forum from seven years ago describing a similar issue:

Just updated to v24.0.3, but the two-finger swipe gesture still doesn't work properly. It zooms the canvas in/out instead of panning.
