playhead not realtime when just playing audio

I regularly use the period “.” keyboard shortcut on the number pad just to play the audio in AE timeline, the last update has made the play head lag behind the actual audio time which makes it impossible to lay down markers whilst listening to the audio.

    I’m not able to reproduce this internally. Can you open up Preferences → Audio and check the I/O Buffer Size and see if setting it to a lower value helps?
