Project File continuously reduces itself

I am working on an After Effects project, and often when I open or close it the project has reduced itself. This means that all the imported files I have not used get automatically removed. It happens without me going onto File > Dependencies > Reduce Project.

 

It is quite annoying as I need those other files I improted and have to do it twice. Sometimes it happens even WHILE I am working!!

 

Anyone knows about this issue?

Nobody can operate in thin air and most people around here are just volunteers trying to figure things out. Our telepathic powers only go so far. Without any specific info even the Adobe engineers couldn't answer your question, so for what it's worth, give us something we can work with.

Not sure why Adobe needs to know everything about my machine when this is clearly something that the program is doing. It is simply reducing the project when I am not asking it to do so. It has not done it for years on the same machine, now it does. It also keeps the files I am using, so no issue with the files.

Without exact info about your system, the project, the footage types, where the files are stored and even things like hardware acceleration settings nobody can tell you anything. You need to be much more specific.
