Shortcuts wont work on Search Bar / Replace Dialog Box / MacOS

There’s a workaround for this until it hopefully gets fixed.

Right-click or control-click in the Search field at the upper right of the macOS dialog box and choose “Paste”.  That’s still working as expected even though command + v is not.

not a solution, but a workaround, you can right-click and select Paste, and that should paste it, to avoid having to type it.

I’m having the same issue on mac sequoia with Ae 2026.3 and that’s what I’m doing to avoid having to type everything manually.

Yes, I’m able to reproduce this unexpected behavior under macOS 15.7.7 in After Effects 25.6.6 and 26.3 while it works as expected in 24.6.8.

As a work around, I’ve been using Command + Tab to switch to the Finder while the Replace Footage dialog box is open in Ae25 or Ae26.  Then using the Search text field of a Finder window to find the footage.  Once located, drag and drop the file to the right side of the Replace Footage dialog box.  If that dialog box can’t been seen, start the drag, Command + Tab back to After Effects, and then drop.  

That will update the Replace Footage dialog box to the location of the file.  Click Ok as you would have otherwise to continue.

Be sure to drop it to the right side of the dialog box.  To far to the left may result in moving the file. 

I’ll try to record a video of this to show what’s happening.  Seeing this type of issue usually makes what’s happening very clear.

For many years I was able to copy the name of a missing file and paste it into the search window when attempting to relink a missing file. It seems that Adobe has removed that feature. I don’t remember what version of After Effects this first happened, but I can no longer do that. Copying the name of a missing video or image no longer works. That standard feature helped tremendously when searching for missing files or trying to relink them. My request is that you restore that very simple feature.
