Issue - The performance of After Effects drops significantly when attempting to change the fill and stroke colors of multiple selected shape layers while the Properties Panel is open and visible. When using the color picker, AE takes multiple seconds to update and has even completely frozen at times. The performance drop increases as more shape layers are selected. If the properties panel is open, but not visible, the expected performance returns.
Adobe After Effects Version Number - 23.6.0 (Build 62)
Operating System - Windows 10
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the attached .aep
- Make the Properties Panel active and visible
- Select all of the shape layers in the comp named "Scenery"
- Attempt to change the fill or stroke color of the selected layers using the toolbar
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the properties panel closed
Expected result - AE will quickly change the colors of the selected layers, with little to no lag, with or without the Properties Panel being open.
Actual result - AE is very slow to update with the Properties Panel open and is very quick to respond with the Properties Panel closed. See the attached video for a demo.
