Toggle Mask and Shape Path Visibility not working? Again?!

Looks like a bug from 2021 has returned.

After Effects 25.6, Win11, my PC specs don't matter.

This button in the title does nothing. I checked it in a couple of projects with different media.

What I think you want is to Show or Hide Layer Controls which is found in the View menu.

Thanx, so it's usekess then. What if I need to turn off the paths, as the name of this button implies, how to?

Stop trying to edit and EDIT!

That button isn't setup to turn off the keyframed position changes. Only to hide/show the shape or mask paths. If you draw a shape with the pen, and then use the button, it should turn off those outlines.
