Using ACES and whites don't equal whites.

Hi all,

See attached AE file. The project settings are using ACES. However, the two comps in this project treat white differently, and I am using the same display transforms. I have noticed that comps will randomly  start interpretting FFFFFF hex values incorrectly. Currently the only workaround that I am aware of is to duplicate the comp that works. I don't know what triggers this bad result to happen. Any advice?

Thanks,

John

I can snap AE out of this whites=grays mode by loading in an old AET project file that I made one AE version ago, that uses the same Color settings (ACES/ACEScg). Not that this is a solution by any means, but I hope this helps you diagnose the problem.

Which version of AE are you using?

We fixed a bug related to ACES display transforms with duplicated Comps in 23.4.
