Hey @JohnColombo17100380 ! are you aware of this bug? this white flash when opening 😔 (Windows 11).

I also noticed a longer startup time compared to older alternatives like ConsoleFX.

Thank you for bringing this up, @QuietRobot! You are the first to note this, and we will get a ticket open to investigate. I see a similar flash in some other dialogs, but it appears to be slightly tempered by the scaling animation on those dialogs.

Regarding load time, do you see the same performance each time opening Quick Apply? What typical startup times do you see compared with older alternatives?

    Thanks again

Thanks for your time @JohnColombo17100380 🙌

That's true, it happens in other windows like Settings, but logically it's more annoying in Quick Apply.

I believe this issue stems from the fact that we don't have a native dark mode in Windows. I’ll take this opportunity to mention this and its ramifications:

    Performance.

Quick Apply loading times don't vary. Here is a comparison with ConsoleFX showing the moment I press the spacebar:

White flash and the absence of a dark mode in Windows.

Unlike macOS, AE on Windows doesn't have a native dark mode. I think this is partly the reason for the white flash, this affects menus and title bar.

I managed to fix it (except white flash) using external customization, but this should be a native implementation. Here are the comparisons:

    default / fix
    default / fix

I think it would be great if this dark mode and menu implementation were native.

WinUI allows integrating modern elements such as menus into Win32 apps using XAML Islands, It would finally bring AE on Windows up to par with macOS!

I hope this helps, sorry for being so long-winded.
