Ae Beta 24.5.0 (Build 38) importing files crash

Importing PSD as Compositions - Retain Layer Sizes works again.
Adobe AE Beta 24.5.0 (Build 46)
Tested with various PSD files.

Importing PSD as Comp / Retain in safe mode (blocked 3rd party plugins too) works without issues.
Importing PSD as Comp / Retain in regular mode hangs.

@Frank_B If you start the Beta in Safe Mode, are you able to import PSD files?

If so, please try this in non-Safe mode:
1. Launch After Effects (Beta)

2. Create a composition

3. Now try to import a PSD file

Does After Effects (Beta) still hang?

Re-installing Beta didn't solve the issue.
Having said that, I'm not too worried about it since it works in 2024.

If you enable logging from Help -> Enable Log File, then restart, reproduce the issue, then start again, go back to Help -> Reveal Log Files and see if you can find the After Effects Log.txt file and see what's in there.

I found log file but it only says this:

Downloaded the file and tried both options that come with Retain sized. The file imported ok for me.

Can you enable logging and get the after effects log.txt file back to here for me? Perhaps the crash might tell me more.

I had to remove the file content due to nda but it still causes issues in Beta. No issues in 2024.

Importing other psd files also causes issues. It only happens when importing as Composition - Retain Layer Size.
Importing as footage works.

Any chance you can share the file(s) you're having trouble with? I tried 24.5x40 and PSDs imported ok for me.

When trying to circumvent this bug and import PSD file in 2024, save it and then open the aep file in beta here's what happens upon beta launch.
