Crashing in 23.0 Beta Builds on Startup

There is a bug happening on shutdown in AE 23.0 beta builds that might cause AE to crash on startup the next time you run AE. If that happens, please delete your beta preferences. You can do that by:

 

Windows: Navigate to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects (Beta) and deleting the 23.0 folder. 

MacOS: Navigate to \Users\{username}\Library\Preferences\Adobe\After Effects (Beta) and deleting the 23.0 folder. 

 

The preferences will be recreated on the next start up of After Effects. Please post back if you continue to have issues with AE startup after performing these steps.

If you're still running into this, 23.0x19 will detect this scenario and complete AE's startup. Your workspace will be filled with floating windows. To fix that, go to the main Window menu, Workspace, Reset "Default" to Saved Layout and that should fix the layout. If it does not, proceed with clearing your preferences as per above.
