Mac OS - Start Icon Does Not Stay in Dock

It's a tiny thing, but I pretty much laid it out in my Subject line.

Yes. I was referring to the launch icon when you click the "keep in dock" on Mac OS.

However, the point seems to be moot now; it is staying in my dock. That just figures. I haven't had any other issues. Thanks.
