The bounding box of a 3d object is visible in the rendered video if the object is not moving.

I got the same bug too.

In my case no matter if its preview or exported in PNG sequence, the blue square appears, on preview it appears for a milisecond and then it renders normally if you play it back already rendered, ultil it fade into other 3D object, and this second object gets the same issue with the blue square. To be clear, whenever a 3D object is going to be rendered on preview, the blue square appear and disappear and when exported is the same.

PS: Im using a ACER NITRO 5 - i5 11400H + gtx1650 + 8gb RAM 1600mhz (waiting for my boss to buy another dimm to get 16gb of RAM) Could it possibly be because of low RAM? I already made a GIF with a 3D object .gltf made on Illustrator, it worked fine without any blue square n stuff, and Im saying this because this project that Im having this issue is way heavier than the first.

Well, thanks for your attention and sorry for the bible that wrote.

Hi Tim, thanks for letting me know it was the Vram issue. There was once when I add camera (no animate), it works rendering. But after I put a lot more compositions, the box appear.

This was for my client and I was worried that it may not work for my project.

I found a workaround, at least render each composition in ME and arrange them in the main composition (without the live 3D composition), so it went well.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Akmal Hakim5C7C,

Thanks for the additional info on what you're experiencing. The devs have been investigating this issue and are on track for a fix in a future update to After Effects Beta.

This is a little bit of a sticky issue, as the underlying cause appears to be happening deep in the rendering logic. It's most likely to happen when VRAM is low or limited due to high usage by After Effects or other apps, but there are circumstances within these bug conditions that are unpredictable so I can't give you any sure workarounds at this time.

I'll update this thread when we've got a fix in place in After Effects Beta.

Hi Tim, I'm also having the same bug rendering it. There are instances of the rendering that produces the same position.

Here is my example when I try to render in JPG sequences. Let's say 30 sequences, and sequence #5 is where the 3D boundary appears and then #6 its back to normal. I copied 3x for the next frame to see if the next render happened differently, but it was not. It replicates the same rendering issue.

Thanks for the screenshots. This is helpful. What it is showing is not the bounding box of the 3D model, but a 3D placeholder that is being rendered over the top of the model. This is no less a bug, but it does get us closer to understanding the problem.

Can you share the .aep and .glb files with us? There appear to be a couple of factors in your comp that I can't fully determine from the screenshots. It appears that the 3D model is inside a nested comp, and that comp has a track matte applied. I attempted to recreate what I could see from the screenshots, but I didn't reproduce the bug. The fastest path to understanding this will be for me to work with your files. You can DM me a link.

Also: are you rendering this comp via the Render Queue in After Effects, or via Adobe Media Encoder?

Steps to reproduce:
    1. Place 3d object.glb in a comp and animate the position of the comp. In the rendered video the bouning box dissapears when the comp starts the movement.

Hi @Cristina28481433yffd,

Thanks for filing this bug. Could you please provide a screenshot of the comp in After Effects and a screenshot of the rendered output? I don't repro this problem in the latest builds of After Effects Beta, but my test may not match your scenario.

Also, which build of After Effects Beta are you using? You can get the specific build number from the About screen (in the After Effects (Beta) menu on Mac or the Help menu on Windows).
