Show layer controls not working

I wanted to toggle "Show layer controls" but it wasn't working neither from the view menu nor with the keyboard shortcut. I restarted AE and it started to work again

    Thank you for reporting this issue. If this occurs again, please do let us know and possibly grab a screen recording of After Effects in this state. Was this only happening in the Beta version of the After Effects or in the release version?
