When keeping After Effects open for a while, it makes my computer SO slow to the point of freezing.

I'm not sure if it's something to do with preview caching, but if I leave it on in the background, my PC (it's a pretty good gaming PC) becomes unbearably slow. My PC froze for 3-5 minutes today and I couldn't even close After Effects.
