Adobe Bridge search inconsistent or doesn't work

Hi. I'm having trouble searching Bridge for file names. It is extremely inconsistent. Sometimes is doesn't find a file name. Other times, it is only finding some of the files and not others that I know for sure include the word in name. And sometimes it even works.

I've tried various ideas I've seen on these forums -- adding non-indexed files, renaming "v36" to "v36_backup" and confirming that my Macbook Pro's "Privacy & Security" tab is allowing Bridge. None have worked.

I really need this search function. I have been naming the files of my bird photos religiously with the relevant bird name since I started with Creative Cloud and Bridge a couple months ago. I've been doing the renaming using Bridge.

Now when I want to find all photos of a certain bird, most times only a handful of the photos come up, with most or none at all coming up in search. The problem is the same whether I'm searching for the photos on an SD card, my Macbook hard drive or an external HD.

One more thing. The bird name within the file names is totally searchable via Spotlight on my Mac -- all the photos come up. So the file names aren't the problem. It is Bridge.
